Consultancy Services
Consultancy
HMS consultancy services cover a wide range of client-specific services offering scalable advice for commercial clients and strategic and practical guidance for military clients. Consultancy can be provided on a project-by-project basis or for individual projects or operations. Alternatively, our experienced subject matter experts can be placed within an organization to provide specialized advice to support an existing team.
Civil Administration
HMS delivers guidance and support to commercial clients to enable them to mitigate the threat from acts of terrorism and efficiently deal with the consequences of such acts. The expertise is provided through two main, scalable, services that offer different solutions to the client depending on their requirement:
- Counter-terrorism security reviews (CTSRs) provide a systematically researched and expertly analysed study of an organization’s exposure to acts of terrorism. It is founded on a realistic assessment of the prevailing or emerging threat and a view of the organization’s vulnerabilities and preparedness to meet that threat.
- Crisis management (CM) and business continuity planning (BCP) is a vital management function and enables business continuity to be maintained during a difficult post-incident period, ensuring that confidence and business opportunities are not lost.
Planning for the effects of terrorist action is now as necessary as planning for crises such as fire and flood. HMS work with organizations to ensure they plan for, and operate effectively during, heightened terrorist threats and attacks, thereby mitigating the effects on their enterprises.
Military Transformation
As a result of the changing face of warfare, military clients face an ongoing challenge in maintaining effective procedures and countermeasures that can deal with the evolving and increasing threat from IEDs. HMS consultancy services deliver C-IED, C2 and C2I assessments and advice to military clients ranging from junior leader briefings through to pre-deployment briefings enabling officers to become fully aware of the IED threat and command & control procedures. Due to the breadth and depth of knowledge, the consultancy team is uniquely placed to review military readiness for the IED threat, and provides essential and viable solutions to fill gaps in capability and fortify areas which strengthen resources.
Maritime
Ports, shipping and maritime provide an essential element of infrastructure, the disruption of which could have wide-reaching effects. HMS maritime consultants advise military maritime and commercial port and shipping clients on the how to effectively limit their exposure to terrorist attacks. Consultants provide threat and vulnerability assessments to vessels and ports as well as business continuity planning and operational capability support. In order to maintain and enhance both port and shipping security, the HMS consulting services team offers technical expertise and hands-on EOD security functions.
