TRITON Global Report extract from the April 2010 issue - Somalia: SVBIED Attack against AMISOM Peacekeepers

On 27 April 2010 an SVBIED was used in an attack against a newly established base of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in the Shingani district of Mogadishu.  The device, driven by two suicide operatives, functioned prematurely when it was fired upon by AMISOM peacekeepers as it approached the perimeter of the facility.

TRITON Afghanistan and Pakistan Report extract from the April 2010 issue - Multiple Suicide Operative Attack on the NDS HQ

On 12 April 2010 three suicide operatives wearing PBIEDs and equipped with small-arms and grenades entered a school in Kandahar city.  The militants, travelling on a motorized tricycle and carrying a ladder then attempted to attack the nearby National Directorate of Security (NDS) HQ.

TRITON Iraq Report extract from the April 2010 issue - Coordinated SVBIED Attacks on Foreign Embassies in Baghdad

On 4 April 2010 three suicide operatives functioned three VBIEDs targeting foreign embassies in central Baghdad.  At least 41 people were killed and at least 250 others were injured. A few minutes later a second VBIED targeted the Egyptian embassy near the Rowwad intersection in central Baghdad.  The explosion left a three metre deep crater outside the compound.
